The new B1 equipment, which aims to convert web printers from emerging markets to digital platemaking, will be available from May this year.
The Acento offers imaging speeds of up to 11 plates per hour, according to the manufacturer, and can handle plate sizes from 450x 370mm up to 1,060x820mm.
Pricing has yet to be announced for the Acento LF, but Agfa Graphics said it would represent an “entry-level investment”.
Agfa Graphics president of worldwide sales, Marc Op de Beeck, said CTP adoption was on the verge of taking place in many markets at an accelerated pace.
Agfa Graphics also announced the sale last week of US-based subsidiary Xitron to Vanguard Graphics International (VGI).
