AdsML 1.0, which is based on XML, is aimed at combating the cumbersome and error-prone processes currently in use.
The standards specification is being circulated among industry and XML experts for evaluation and review before its launch for public consultation in October at Ifra in Leipzig.
The AdsML consortiums supporters include Ifra, the Newspaper Association of America, Associated Newspapers, CCI Europe, Engage, IPA Systems and Vio Worldwide.
John Lobst, vice chair of the AdsML Steering Committee and Technical Working Group member, said AdsML would fill in gaps between standards that have impeded the seamless flow of vital information.
