The landmark was reached with an ad sent from national car dealership Arnold Clark Automobiles to Trinity Mirror's Scottish Daily Record.
Arnold Clark sends about 300 files per week to various publications using AdFast, while the Daily Record receives a total of around 1,500 AdFast files every month.
Daily Record operations director William Fagan said: "We congratulate the Newspaper Society on the two millionth file received via AdFast. We have had a terrific response from our clients when discussing AdFast, to the extent that it is now our prime method of file receipt."
The last year has brought rapid growth for AdFast, which first launched in 2000. Its millionth file came after four years of operation last August.
