Admittedly, the folded paper involved in reaching this landmark was virtual and it will be hard to replicate the addictive "finger-flicking fun" of the app, which challenges gamers to launch their paper glider across a series of landscapes, but we’re hoping iPhone and iPad users will be persuaded by the popularity of the game to attempt playing with the real thing.
Post Script hasn’t had much luck with paper creations after its fledgling career in Toilegami (Post Script, 10 December 2010) went down the pan, but we still fancy our chances of beating the official record for the greatest distance flown by a paper aeroplane launched indoors, from the ground, which, at 58.82m, is approximately the length of a Jumbo jet.

It's not every day origami makes international news but that's, sort of, exactly what happened this week, when mobile games firm Neon Play's Paper Glider app became the 10 billionth to be downloaded from Apple's App Store.
