Zund said it aims to maintain its status as the "first choice in digital cutting" with its latest machines.
The S3 will initially be available in six configurations ranging from the smallest model, 1330x800mm, up to the maximum specification of 1800x1600mm.
The manufacturer's latest series fits in beneath its established G3 range of cutters, which offer a maximum bed size up to 3210 x 3200mm.
Zund's S3 series, which is claimed to offer an "unprecedented" combination of price and performance, can cut substrates including plastics, cardboard, films and textiles.
Functionality of the S3 series, driven by the manufacturer's Cut Centre software suite, can also be extended with the addition of routing and creasing tools.
Zund marketing and communications manager Tibor Naphegyi said the introduction of the S3 technology is in response to burgeoning market demand for smaller format finishing.
"Customers are increasingly looking for more flexibility within finishing and the S3 line enables print businesses to cater for intricate designs on a machine with a smaller footprint," he added.
