Xcel was rolled out last week, at MediaPro, to attract marketers and print buyers as well as printers. The web-to-print and cross-media components are based on Pageflex software, provided via ROI 360.
"We faced a decision: did we develop our own system or did we partner with a leading player in that space," said Xeretec director Warren Beard. "It was important for us to embrace new technology and cross media supports printed media – the two go hand-in-hand."
Xcel also includes other workflow tools, including those in Xerox’s Freeflow suite and business development tools provided in conjunction with XL Training.
Xeretec is offering the web-to-print and cross media tools for B2B and B2C applications starting with a SaaS configuration through to full enterprise server versions.
"You used to have to spend big bucks to get on the ladder," said Beard. "Now we can offer something from a few grand through to £50,000 to suit any need."
