Trio of new sign-ups for Newtech

Three new exhibitors have signed up to join co-operative regional print show Newtech, which kicks off its 2019 series of local practical workshops in north London next month.

The show will come to the RAF Museum in Hendon on 2 May and will see Printbyte, Perfect Bindery Solutions and United Brands of Scandinavia join a roster of regular exhibitors that includes Xerox, Konica Minolta and Brother UK.

“For exhibitors the Newtech events are a perfect contrast with a traditional show. It offers them the time and the opportunity to sit down and have quality time with their customers and prospects,” said Martin Morrissey, managing director of Newtech show organiser Coactive Events.

“And for visitors it’s very easy for them to pop out of the office for a few hours, see the latest technology and sit down and get an in-depth briefing on how that could be a benefit to their company.”

Printbyte will highlight the profitable opportunities available with the portfolio of digital production and enhancement systems that it supplies to the UK market.

“Together with our authorised resellers MGI Digital Graphic Technology, Develop, Intec and CN Jacky, we help printers combine the latest Printbyte products with established systems and processes to create new opportunities and improve business performance,” said Printbyte director Phil Turner.

“All the Printbyte solutions provide real competitive advantages due to special features, special digital print formats and no click charges, ever.”

Steve Giddins, partner at post-press supplier Perfect Bindery Solutions, added: “When we learned about the Newtech proposition we immediately recognised the strength of its merits.

“Conventional exhibitions have a place in the marketing mix, but the commitment they demand in terms of time and budget – for exhibitors and visitors alike – does lead you to question what should be their ideal frequency to give a reasonable ROI.”

Workwear supplier United Brands of Scandinavia said the Newtech events will enable it to engage and interact closely with its existing and new customers across the country.

“These workshops will provide us the opportunity to showcase over 50 of our fantastic new product lines for 2019, along with showing the customers our faithful, bestselling lines,” said managing director Amy Frewer.

“The new addition of evening sessions has also opened the door to meeting even more people that find time away from their business during trading hours is simply not possible.”

The free-to-attend Newtech events, which cover areas including digital and wide-format printing, finishing and personalised products, are designed as collaborative shows featuring exhibitors that are associated companies and technologies rather than competitors.

Further events in 2019 are planned for Portsmouth, Manchester, Swindon, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Durham, Northampton, West London and central London.

Each Newtech event usually features eight to 12 exhibitors and attracts around 80 to 100 visiting companies per day, according to Morrissey.

“Where people are expanding width-wise, they want to expand their services. They are working with brands and want to retain more of their work in house so they are coming along to look at the opportunities, which is really the basis of these shows,” he added.

“People can very economically take on additional services that they can provide for their brands.”
