TNPL allies with the Book Printer's Conference in Kerala

Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers Limited is partnering the first national book printer's conference (NBPC) from 17 to 19 November at Trivandrum, Kerala.

P Sajith of Welbound said: "TNPL is one of the largest manufacturers of printing and writing paper in India, with an installed capacity of over four lakh tonnes per annum. They have consented to come on board of NBPC as a partner."

According to George Thomas, CGM – marketing: "NBPC is an innovative movement that can gather momentum in the coming days to drive India to a predominant position in the world book print market".

More than 200 delegates have registered for book print conference in Kerala. Top CEOs from Gopsons, IPP, Kala Jyothi, Lovely Offset, Manipal Technologies, Multivista, Replika, Repro, will be part of the main deliberations. On day two, a white paper will be released which will be a blue-print to create an eco-system for book exports.

The agenda for the main session in evening has been confirmed.

The highlights for day one, 17 November are: keynote by Prof Werner; felicitation of PrintWeek India award-winning and short-listed print firms; panel discussion chaired by Faheem Agboatwala and Ramu Ramanathan (the discussants include top management from Henkel, Robatech, Wohlenberg, Guk, etc); panel discussion with top print CEOs chaired by Sadashiv Nayak and Ramu Ramanathan (CEOs of Gopsons, IPP, Lovely, Manipal, Multivista, Replika, Repro, etc)

The highlights for day two, 18 November are: panel discussion with top publishers chaired by Jaya Rose Bhattacharji and Ramu Ramanathan (CEO of Pearsons, Hatchette, Cinnamon Teal, Harper Collins, etc); presentation of award-winning book samples; a presentation by Pramod Khera, the executive director, Repro India outlining the blue-print of how to make India a book export hub by 2017; and unveiling of the Special Book and White Paper.

Besides the main session, there are break-away technical sessions during the day at the Welbound factory. These will be hosted by Akshay Pathak, the director GBO (Frankfurt Book Fair), Dr Michael Euler, the managing director of Wohlenberg, Sven Schubert of the Baumann-Wohlenberg group, Anil Krishna of Henkel India, Peter Geyger, a PUR expert, Arvind Kalassur (Welbound Training Services) and John Finn, the managing director of Deluxe Stitching, etc
