The Woolwich-based company will take delivery of the B2 press this month. The 18,000sph machine has been specified with coater and features Heidelberg's inline colour monitor device, Inpress Control.
David Duhig, managing director at TG Print, said the new press will enable the business to grow in coming years.
He said: "There is work out there and we believe this investment will allow us to potentially lift turnover from about £2.5m up to £3.5m or £4m.
"Profits are being squeezed but efficiency reduces the cost base and this press with Inpress Control will make good business sense for us."
As a result of the investment, the company has bought an adjacent 465sqm two-storey factory, which will house pressroom and consumables as well as a white paper store.
TG Print will also soon take delivery of a Polar 92X guillotine, which will be funded through a consumables deal. It will complement a Suprasetter S 74 CtP device that uses Saphira Chem-free plates as well as inks and chemistry from Heidelberg.
Duhig said: "We use 150 - 200 plates over a three shift day. Heidelberg’s consignment stock system is reliable and we never run out of plates, inks or chemistry.
"The stock just arrives and that’s one less thing for me to worry about. So funding the new guillotine in tandem with our consumables purchases made perfect sense. "
TG Print is a general commercial printer that produces flyers, posters and general commercial print for a client base that primarily spans London and south east region and also to all parts of England, Scotland and Wales.
