Teacher and student battle it out on Make Ready Challenge

Would the student become the master? The tense question on everyone’s lips on day three of the Ipex 2014 Make Ready Challenge, as teacher Jose Vicente Abao and student Ruben Loyo, both from the Menoizabala school in Spain, went head to head.

The challenge, sponsored by print breakdown insurer Burnetts, has so far seen 11 contenders compete to win £1,000 for being the fastest to load four plates and paper, make ready and print 250 sheets. 

The result? Vicente Abao’s master status was safe. His time of 6.33 was 17 seconds faster than Loyo’s. Alas not fast enough to knock Sunil Sharma’s speedy 5.53 time off the top spot. But with the winner announced on Saturday, there’s still time…
