SunPak FSP is a sheetfed offset ink system that meets safety requirements for food packaging, while SunCure QLM is a UV-curable printing ink range, suitable for cartonboard, flexible packaging and non-absorbent substrates intended for outer wrap food packaging.
The launches come on the back of an increasing number of food packaging migration alerts, according to the company, and will help printers meet the stringent requirements of EU legislation.
Jo Stephenson, marketing director at Sun Chemical Packaging Europe, said the migration level of SunPak FSP was a fraction of the legal allowance.
She said: "The range has a very low odour and taint. Its technology allows offset packaging printers to compete in the folding cartons markets, tobacco markets and others where odour may lead to customer irritation, such as pharmaceuticals or cosmetics."
SunCure QLM inks are specially formulated to provide lower migration performance, and have a certified migration performance in use of below 50ppb.
Stephenson said the range provided a high-quality package look, while also offering production safety.
"UV curable inks and coatings provide the high-gloss, high-print definition look that brand owners and designers demand," she said.
