The four films include matt black, which has a fairly flat finish, black and white carbon fibre, and black brushed metallic, all of which have more of a ridged finish.
Spandex UK business manager Phil McMullin said that the four SWF textured films were the first on the UK market to benefit from Avery’s multi-layered manufacturing.
"It’s a dual cast process, which means they put a couple of layers down to give a deeper colour that has greater longevity," he explained.
McMullin said the films, which have a list price of around £28/sqm, have a protective layer that is "not particularly susceptible to ink" and are not designed to be printed on.
"That’s not to say that some people won’t try or that certain inks won’t key to them very well," he added.
All four films are available in 1.52m standard width reels, which Spandex can cut down to a narror width if customers require. McMullin added that he was anticipating more textured films from Avery later in the year.
