Southernprint wins Sun bookazine spin-off

Southernprint has printed a glossy bookazine for News Magazines to celebrate Peter Seabrooks 30 years as gardening editor of The Sun.

The 132pp Garden Year, which will launch on 29 March, had an initial print run of 75,000, with text pages printed on 90gsm paper and the cover on 275gsm stock.

“Southernprint was an obvious choice after its impressive work on the one shot earlier this year, called New Year New You, for sister title love it!,” said News Magazines publisher Lou McLeod.

“The UK magazine web offset printer is perfectly suited to produce the thick glossy look required for Garden Year.”

Garden Year
will be heavily promoted across News International’s stable of titles, which includes The Sun and The Times, and websites and is the first of a number of joint publishing projects under development.
