Version 5 has adopted an appearance similar to Microsoft's Outlook e-mail program, which allows the user to access all parts of the MIS efficiently, said Shuttleworth.
Paul Deane joint managing director of Shuttleworth said it was a big decision for the company to invest in a "complete redesign of the user experience" but added that the feedback has been positive.
He said: "We are continually conducting research with our users, gathering information that will help drive our developments in a direction which customers require.
"Our primary aim with version 5 was to help the user get to information more quickly so it improves their effectiveness and enables them to deliver world class customer service".
Existing Shuttleworth MIS users are eligible for a complimentary upgrade to version 5 as part of their maintenance contracts.
Deane added that the company was already working on further enhancements planned for release next year to build further functionality into the interface and support for mobile devices.
"Our investment in R&D has never been greater and we are determined to maintain our market position by working in partnership with our customers," he said.
