Students from Walsall College, in conjunction with the wide-format manufacturer and substrate-supplier Metamark took part in the four-day event at London's Excel venue in October.
Over the course of the event, the students trained within the Roland DG Academy as the college drew upon the skills gained from level 2 and 3 sign making apprenticeship programme to wrap a Honda Accord car using Metamark MD-7.
The event, which showcased more than 1,000 skilled young people from across the globe, featured nearly 50 different skills across the arena.
During the event David Cameron, Boris Johnson and Vince Cable all took time to scout some of the stars of the future.
Andrew Evans, commercial academy manager at Walsall College said it was "truly aspirational" to be part of an event that recognised skills at the highest level.
"We are thrilled that our students had the opportunity to showcase their talents at WorldSkills London 2011. It's fantastic for them to be part of such prestigious event and gain recognition for all their hard work," he added.
