Based on the C900 platform, the C901 and C901S Graphics Arts presses, the latter of which includes a scanner, can print at speeds of up to 90ppm in both simplex and duplex operation at resolutions up to 1,200dpi.
They use the company's new PXP oil-free toner, which the company claimed would offer "immaculate" colour quality and shading that is comparable to offset.
It added that they offer accurate front-to-back registration, thanks to a new fuser unit, and printing on stocks up to 300gsm for a range of applications such as transactional, transpromo and direct mail print.
Graham Moore, director of business development in production printing group at Ricoh Europe, said the addition of the C901 machine was the company's "best press yet".
"Printing at 90ppm, the C901 is a digital powerhouse that can easily complement a heavy duty offset environment. It is ideal for the commercial print provider and offers great benefits to the corporate printer too," he added.
Both the C901 and C901S feature a raft of inline finishing options that include a bookletmaker and trimmer as well as ring-binding and folding. To coincide with the launch, Ricoh is also launching the Stream Punch Pro unit for heavy duty punching on coated media.
Although it would not be drawn on the price, Peter Williams, executive vice president of Ricoh's production printing group in Europe said it be placed at a "competitive" price point.
