"The entries submitted by printers represented the whole gamut of capabilities that is possible with print today. I will be leaving this place with a wealth of knowledge on print and its applications," said Vibhuti Patki of Hafele India.
Among the quality categories, the Packaging Printer of the Year, the Book Printer of the Year, Digital Printer of the Year and Innovative Printer of the Year categories were heavily subscribed, which shows that these are the growing segments of interest for the printers.
Sherebanu Baldiwala of Landor who judged the Innovation and Poster categories, said: "The samples that I evaluated were extremely attractive. Also, they were highly innovative and the ideas exceptional, out of the ordinary."
Soma Roy, of Parle Agro who judged the Packaging category, said: "I liked most of the jobs, and in particular the treatment of the design and the consistency of print that went with it. The entries truly had an international flair to it."
The shortlist for the 18 Quality and Six Performance Awards categories for PrintWeek India Awards 2011 will be announced on the PrintWeek India website (www.printweek.in) on 1 August. A special e-bulletin comprising of the shortlisted companies will be sent out to PrintWeek India’s email database.
The Awards shortlist will also be a part of the forthcoming PrintWeek India issue dated August 12.
The winners from the shortlisted companies will be announced on 25 August 2011 at the PrintWeek India Awards Night at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.
