PrintWeek Awards: Brochure Printer of the Year - Pureprint Group

A finalist for the past two years, Pureprint has secured the 2011 top spot with the Jaguar XK brochure it printed for client Williams Lea.

The 10,000-run piece was produced to exacting ISO 12647 colour standards with plates for the job output on a special uncoated curve using a 200-line screen on Fuji plates. One judge said the brochure, printed on the group’s six-colour plus coater Heidelberg XL 105 press, was printed and finished to the "highest quality". Regency Satin stock from Howard Smith was used throughout with a spot UV applied to some of the text pages.

Commended – Empress Litho

Commended this year is Empress Litho, recognised for its 1,000-run Penthouse 68 brochure promoting a luxury apartment building in Hong Kong. Printed on one of its six-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 presses, the job was finished completely in-house, using its Wohlenberg binder equipped with Kolbus in-line trimmer.

Commended – Taylor Boxham

A commendation also goes to Taylor Bloxham for the work it carried out for Derwent. The 10,600-run piece was commissioned to promote the company’s upholstery products. Produced on 350gsm Regency Satin for the cover and 170gsm for the text, Derwent was delighted with the 52pp text plus 4pp cover piece.
