Nur Nurmahomed from Beauchamp College, Leicestershire was crowned the overall winner of PrintIT! 2011 in a year where more than 16,700 students from 350 schools registered to take part.
The award winners, which were chosen by a panel of print, media and graphic arts experts, came from across the country after demonstrating their qualities in a variety of areas.
Meanwhile, Duplo UK managing director Tony Lock has been unveiled as the new chairman of PrintIT!.
Lock was appointed at the awards ceremony at Northprint last week, which also saw this year's winners announced.
He said his goal for the scheme, which is designed to introduce 13- to 16-year-olds to the world of print and related industries, was to try to get every one of the 350-plus schools involved in the project twinned with a printer.
Wayne Barlow, professional print channel director of Canon UK and the outgoing chairman of PrintIT! said: "PrintIT! is unique in the printing industry and, I suspect, many other industries could learn a great deal from how the concept inspires young people to examine a specific market sector in new and exciting ways."
