Huned Rangawala of Huned Rangawala who represent some of the top screen print brands said: "The three city tour was successful for us. We got a lot of response from the visitors. They were enthusiastic and surprised to see specimens printed out of specialty inks with plastisol base for t-shirt printing, balloon ink sample, lottery silver sample. These products were not available in local markets in these cities, since the dealers do not have interest to market innovative new products and are reluctant to accept new ideas. Participation in this three city tour has helped us to understand the potential of the market in small cities where our products have demand."
The Grafica Flextronica stall had pictorial and video display of products with special focus on the Nano-Premier League (NPL) and NPL plus package. In addition, the company displayed a big collection of DMI's creative samples with a variety of UV special effects, 100% screen printed during the workshops which the company had conducted.
Bhargav Mistry of Grafica Flextronica, whose brainchild the road show is, said: "Since these table top exhibitions were organised by SPAI (with support from FESPA) in association with local printing associations which mostly comprise offset printers, the 50% of the visitors were from the offset segment and 50% from the screen print segment."
There were more than 100 serious visitors in each cities, in addition to a few walk-ins. In Aurangabad some of the exhibitors educated visitors about new print applications in UV and even lost cost pre-press through emulsified film.
As Mistry said: "Next we plan to host these shows in Gujarat. It is a great opportunity to penetrate the lesser known towns and cities where thousands of printers are still unaware of advanced screen printing and value addition concepts."
Mohan Kaikini of SPAI stated: "In the following one year, the table top exhibition will reach out to 63 cities in India."
