The programme, which is sponsored by the BPIF, Unite and the Printers’ Charitable Corporation, is designed to help fund the careers of young people in the print and graphic arts industries.
Prizes ranging from £1,250 to £2,500 are on offer with applications welcome from those just beginning training, as well as those already taking a course.
Dale Wallis, membership director of the BPIF, said: "We are delighted to launch the Print Futures Awards for the seventh year. In these tough economic times, it is crucial that we help young people to secure funding for their training in print and the graphic arts."
Terry Ulrick, Print Futures Awards secretary, added that previous awards had been given to a broad range of candidates, stemming from all aspects of the print industry.
Last July, seven people were recognised by the scholarship scheme, including Julia Henshaw from Headley Brothers and Marc Goodwin from Sheffield Web.
Goodwin said: "The award has helped greatly because the £2,500 covers the full amount of the remaining tuition costs for my Impress Degree.
"Since the awards, I have also been promoted to trainee print process technician at work."
The application deadline for this year's awards is 9 April and those interested should contact Terry Ulrick on 01444 831 918 or terryulrick@tucommunications.co.uk.
