Print Club London presents fifth annual Blisters exhibition

Print Club London will hold its fifth annual Blisters screen-printed poster exhibition at MC Motors in Dalston, London this weekend.

Blisters: Sound Sessions features the now familiar format of 40 handpicked artists, each producing 40 limited edition screen prints of their own unique artwork, available at £40 each.

As the show's title implies, this year's exhibition challenged each artist to take inspiration from their favourite band, tune, musician or gig. Their artworks were then screen printed on Colorplan paper supplied by GF Smith.

Rose Stallard, founder and creative director of Print Club London, said: "We've always had the idea of doing a music-based Blisters - there have always been screen-printed gig posters, especially in America, although now more popular here in the UK.

"So it seemed the most obvious and natural thing that we would eventually do a Blisters music-inspired show."

Artists taking part in the show include Fred Deakin, Stanley Donwood, Kate Gibb, Terry Pastor and Jamie Reid.

Visitors to the show will also be treated to a special pop-up gig from one of Fiction Records newest acts, Meanwhile, as well as an atmospheric short from filmmaker Ben Stevenson, branding agency Made Thought and GF Smith on the Colorplan creation process.

The short, Bright Red, chronicles the journey of Colorplan from pulp to paper.

Blister: Sound Sessions will run from 6-11pm on 12 September and 10am to 5pm on 13 September. Admission is free although visitors wishing to attend the opening night are requested to email rsvp@printclublondon.com in advance to reserve a ticket.

There will be a free printing workshop for children on Saturday (just bring a T-shirt).
