The Hull-based company has replaced a Heidelberg GTO machine with the B3 Ryobi press, which was supplied by Apex Digital Graphics.
According to Chris Sleight, director of Pilling Printers, the firm opted for the four-colour model, which complements its existing B2 and B3 press battery, to boost capacity at the commercial printer.
He said: "The needs of our customers continue to grow, and there is an ever increasing demand for more four-colour process printing.
"The new Ryobi helps us to meet that demand, and provides for both fast changeover from job-to-job and a significant increase in overall production speed and output."
The 60-year-old print business offers a range of print products that include booklets, brochures, posters, business stationery as well as wet glue and self-adhesive labels.
Sleight said the Apex-supplied Ryobi will enable the company to sell competitively against digital print while offering the quality afforded by offset production.
"With this latest Ryobi press we know that we can be competitive against digital printing with runs from as low as 250 copies," he said.
Sleight added: "The quality of offset still exceeds that of digital, and the turnaround time with the latest breed of presses is very impressive too."
