The firm will hold a range of training courses at the academies to teach customers about all aspects of digital printing and workflows so that they can make the most out of the technology they have invested in.
Some of the areas covered by the courses will include correct job creation, RIP set-up and workflow, printer utilisation, colour management and media selection based on application.
The courses are supported by Mimaki UK distributor Hybrid Services Mimaki, Onyx and Neschen and will be hosted by wide-format specialists from Paperlinx.
"The concept is to raise the level of expertise of people who buy digital wide-format systems by using the experience and expertise that lies within our digital team,” said Paperlinx digital technical support manager Paul Duffy.
“There’s only so much that can be demonstrated on an installation and training day and it’s not very common for people to try and explore what other options are available to them once they get stuck into their day-to-day work.”
In October, the Digital Academies will be hosting ‘Printer Expert’ courses on a range of Mimaki wide-format printers and the HP Latex 300 series. The Onyx Intermediate and Advanced courses will cover PosterShop, Production House and Thrive.
“These courses focus on how people can get the best out of a printer, how to look after it and how to manage the workflow. There are all sorts of things that can be achieved with these printers and very often customers are just scratching the surface,” said Duffy.
“We’ll structure the courses accordingly around the level that interested people are currently at and what they want to achieve. Somebody that wants to know the basics for now can be taken up to other levels on later courses.”
The courses, which have no fixed dates and will be held according to demand in each area, will be offered free of charge to existing Paperlinx customers throughout October, limited to two free places per customer. Places will also be available to anyone buying wide-format media, ink and printers throughout September.
