Packaging Innovations, incorporating Contract Pack and Ecopack, Empack and Label&Print, and run by Easyfairs will host more than 350 exhibitors at the NEC in Birmingham on 24 and 25 February.
Easyfairs’ marketing project manager Shona Thomson said: “We are looking to increase footfall year on year and our last show had 6,585 visitors. We hope to increase this by 10% next year.
“We have just launched registration for the show and are returning with a seminar programme. On the print side there's the label and print seminar and the big print debate. Also popular on the print side is the pharmaceutical symposium.”
The event, targeting packaging and print designers, retailers and buyers, drew major names such as GlaxoSmithKline, Coca-Cola, Britvic, Mars and PZ Cussons to the NEC when it ran last in February. A separate event aimed at luxury packaging was held in September.
Easyfairs’ event director Gerry Sherwood said: “Feedback from visitors and exhibitors last year was fantastic, but we want to ensure we exceed all expectations again this year.”
Exhibitors will be able to network with some of the biggest buyers and decision-makers in the packaging industry, he said. Meanwhile visitors got to see packaging innovations across the supply chain.
Returning exhibitor, Label Apeel owner Stuart Kellock said: “The show provides excellent front-line access to existing customers and potential clients.”
The Plastic Bottle Company owner Glenn Doherty, who visited the show last year, agreed: “There is plenty of opportunity for SMEs and large businesses looking for the latest packaging ideas.”
New for 2016 is the Great Innovation Debate, the Innovation Showcase and the Rising Star Scheme. Meanwhile the pharmaceutical symposium returns with the big print debate and seminars.
Sherwood added: We are proud of the content at both our London and NEC events. A tremendous amount of effort goes in to getting the top speakers and organisations to provide tips and insight.”
