Optimus sales director Steve Richardson said the company is exhibiting once again after being impressed by last year’s inaugural event.
“We thought the first show was very well presented and had very good foundations. And the quality of the visitors attending the show was high – some of the people we had on our stand were senior directors and people of influence who were decision-makers.
“PrintWeek is a prestigious brand within the industry and we wanted to show our support and be part of it again – you’ve got to be in it to win it.”
He added: “Our aspiration for this year is decent footfall and quality people attending the show who are interested in MIS and integration and the potential of what that can do for their business.”
Optimus will show products including its Dash management information system on its stand.
“We can help print service providers become more efficient by automating the creation of estimates and their job bags, and helping them with the creation of their invoices and their production schedules and to manage their inventory and stock. It’s automation of all of the things that can take a lot of time and effort,” said Richardson.
“The reason Dash has been so successful is that it’s a process-led approach, meaning you can manage anything with it. Our industry is changing and people print on all sorts of weird and wonderful substrates and use all sorts of different types of materials to deliver a message to market.
“We can handle anything – glass doors, Foamex – from traditional offset litho capability to specialist print to wide-format. We’re very flexible and scalable and where we play very strongly is to the diverse print service provider doing all sorts that wants to buy a system that can cater for things in two years’ time that they won’t have even thought of yet.”
The company will also highlight its tie-up with Xerox’s XMPie StoreFlow web-to-print system as well as demonstrating its integration into Xerox’s FreeFlow core workflow tool, which Richardson said will “provide even more visibility and transparency of production processes in real-time from Xerox devices”.
He added: “The strategic relationship that we have with Xerox also influenced our decision to return to the show this year, to continue the work and the partnership that we’ve got going with them.”
Optimus has 44 staff worldwide with 20 people working in the UK. Its headquarters are based in Woking, Surrey.
