Comprising three printers, the Stitch line saw its major international debut in April at ISA 2019, where the 1.6m-wide Stitch S300 and S500 were previewed before their release in June. Both machines appeared alongside the 3.2m Stitch S1000 at Fespa 2019 in May, with the larger machine on the market as of July.
HP has now given full HP Stitch Certification to Onyx, which has designed a driver to include functionality for both direct-to-fabric and dye-sublimation transfer on paper or film. The driver provides preset build options specific to the Stitch, as well as QuickSet options to simplify the management of workflows.
Onyx product marketing director Bryan Manwaring said: “Onyx software certification by HP and its integration with HP’s first-ever textile printer defines quality and colour for textile and soft-signage print applications.
“HP Stitch S series customers utilising Onyx software profiling and colour tools can feel confident in delivering fast, consistent quality output which can be automated at the click of a button.”
Onyx 19 is the latest version of the US-based developer’s software, with a new Spark Engine performance platform to increase RIP speeds and the DeviceLink+ system for colour management and consistency.
It also uses Onyx’s IccMax v5 profiling to completely automate workflows across textiles applications on the Stitch S.
HP’s Stitch S series will make its UK debut next month at the Print Show 2019, which is set to take place from 17-19 September at the NEC, Birmingham.
The “superwide workhorse” S1000 can print both direct-to-textile and transfer at speeds up to 220sqm/hr. With a maximum resolution of 1,200dpi, the CMYK machine is capable of running backlits at around 130sqm/hr.
The entry-level 34sqm/hr Stitch S300 is designed for ease-of-use and, like the S500 and S1000, it is capable of both transfer and direct-to-fabric printing.
While the same width as the S300, the 110sqm/hr S500 is designed for high-production operations and runs a symmetrical eight-head dual-CMYK configuration.
