Novalia's Stone out of coma

Novalia founder Dr Kate Stone’s condition has improved, the company has announced.

Stone was critically injured when she was gored by a stag while holidaying in the highlands over the Christmas break.

She was placed in an induced coma after an operation to repair her trachea.

Cambridge-based interactive print specialist Novalia has issued an update on Stone’s condition.

The firm said that following a second, successful operation Stone was taken off sedation last week.

“Over the past couple of days, Kate has slowly been regaining consciousness and becoming more active in terms of communicating with doctors and her family.

“She has been taken out of the intensive care unit and moved to high dependency. All signs point to a steady recovery and doctors will continue to monitor her progress over the next couple of weeks.”
