GMS was formed by former GAE employees Steve Kernoghan and Steve Humphrey, who were made redundant when the company went into administration at the beginning of the year.
GMS, which will officially launch at this year's Ipex with a B2 75 four-colour mid-pile press with double diameter cylinder on its stand, will provide sales of new equipment, spare parts and service support for Shinohara’s B2 and B3 presses.
Kernoghan worked for GAE for 26 years, most recently as technical services manager, while Humphrey has been working on repairing presses for more than 10 years.
GMS has taken on six freelance engineers, all of which have experience with Shinohara presses, and they will be based across the UK.
According to Kernoghan, GMS will work alongside Intelligent Finishing Solutions (IFS), which bought the assets and business of GAE out of administration in January, in the future.
He said: "I know Shinohara customers well – all of the sales over the past few years have involved me and I have a relationship with the company – that relationship will simply continue.
Kernoghan added: "We have an eye on Ipex, we always did. We expect it to be a good event. I think the Shinohara is as attractive as anything on the market, and we will be as competitive as anyone else."
