The machine transports, lifts and rotates heavy reels using both fixed and moveable arms that grip the reel during rotation. The moveable arm is controlled by a Linear Actuator, which, according to the materials handling and logistics kit manufacturer said, has a built-in torque unit that ensures the appropriate grip is achieved.

Logitrans regional director Anthony Dollimore said 2010 was the company's fourth Ipex. "The last Ipex was very good, and for this year everything is related to the recession.

"But while it may have been a slow start, the last few days have been manic. It has been busy, and the enquiry rate for the Rotator Reel Clamp especially has been phenomenal."

He said the business was expecting a lot of smaller printers to visit Ipex over the weekend.
