Legal firms and educational institutions were pegged as target users of the AccurioPrint C759, which was released internationally on 7 December as a successor to the bizhub Pro C754e.
The C759 develops on the capabilities of the C754e, but with a faster warm-up time of 22 seconds or less. Its optional double-feed detector improves scanning speed for high volumes and it boasts a complete scan workflow.
“From our point of view, this is a borderline product because it has the strength of a production printing device but does not need a [trained] operator to run,” said Konica Minolta senior corporate communications specialist Silke Ehmann-Cotichini.
“Commercial printers can have it in their portfolio on the lower end, but it is a strong machine for the office sector.”
Equipped with a colour scanner, which offers a capacity of 300 sheets and scans documents in one pass up to 240ipm, the C759 has a print speed of up to 65ppm in colour and 75ppm in monochrome at a resolution of 1,200dpi.
It is equipped with a new Fiery Controller to “enable customers to achieve consistent and reliable colours every time”, according to product manager André Statkus.
The machine is operated via a 10in touchscreen with multi-touch capability and can connect to mobile devices via NFC. Professional finishing options include stapling, bookletmaking, z-fold and post insertion.
“The top-of-the-class scanning and output speed of this colour MFP combines good print production capabilities with high durability,” said Statkus. “It is particularly suited to schools and universities while its high input and output productivity meets the sophisticated needs of large offices and corporate reprographic departments.”
Konica Minolta said pricing will be disclosed to customers at expression of interest.
