In a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the manufacturer's E320 stand in Hall 9, chief executive Antonio Perez said: "We have enormous expectations for the product line."
The company has been working with 10 paper manufacturers on new coated and uncoated stocks for the press to cater for the book, direct mail, catalogue and magazine markets.
Worldwide vice-president for digital printing solutions Kevin Joyce said the strategy delivered "substrate flexibility, maximum productivity and offset-class quality".
This will be complemented by a certification programme to help Prosper customers with their substrate choices; the company said it had already completed more than 4,000 paper tests.
In addition to developing Prosperready papers, Kodak also announced an inline paper pre-treatment module, the In-line Optimization Station, to handle offset and current inkjet paper stocks.
Expected to be commercially available early next year, the unit uses a water-based pre-treatment that prepares paper for inkjet printing, including aqueous pigmentbased inks, evaporative drying, ink adhesion and gloss, without impacting other properties of the substrate. It can be used on coated and uncoated stocks and matt silk to gloss finishes.
