Kodak enjoys successful Drupa debut

Kodak has lauded its debut Drupa with the company recording more than 10,000 sales leads throughout its first showing at the event.

The company said it "logged hundreds of orders" at the show, while also delivering thousands of demonstrations over the 14-day period.

Central to Kodak's Drupa setup was the launch of its Stream concept: a web inkjet technology, which is claimed to offers a level of speed, quality and economy that is comparable with offset printing.

Antonio M. Perez, chairman and chief executive officer of Kodak, said: "If this is remembered as the inkjet drupa, then Kodak will be at the heart of it with our unique and innovative Stream Inkjet Technology".

He added: "Customer enthusiasm validated our message that print solutions must provide reliability, productivity, the right cost of ownership, substrate variety and image quality."

In addition to its Stream inkjet technology, Kodak was also showcasing its new Nexpress S3600 digital Press, Flexcel NX Flexographic System and its Prinergy Workflow System Version 5.0.

"Without exception, every region, segment and product line exceeded our expectations, with activity and sales in Asia Pacific particularly high, said Kevin Joyce, chief marketing officer of Kodak's Graphics Communications Group.
