Kodak applauds global appeal of Ipex

Kodak has hailed the international appeal of Ipex after confirming a "significant" number of sales of its Prosper inkjet press to customers in South East Asia at the show.

Prosper press product manager Anir Dutta said the reception for the €3m (£2.6m) Prosper 5000XL had been "phenomenal and humbling".

"With Ipex we've seen a significant improvement in performance in the Asia Pacific market, in addition to North America and Europe, and that's really a testament to the truly global audience that this show is able to attract," said Dutta.

"In terms of sales, Asia Pacific is now a significant contributor, which shows that the Prosper is not only a valuable solution in the West."

Dutta added that, following Ipex, Kodak was now on target to exceed the demand for its Prosper platform in 2010 and into 2011.
