The Preston-based firm bought the 1.07m device from reseller Granthams, which is also based in Preston. The device, which prints at speeds of up to 56.2sqm/hr, was installed this month.
Managing director Mark Brindle said: “We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to diversify and to offer our customers more interesting and creative solutions to their requirements.”
The business researched the market and was introduced to a range of alternatives by Granthams, but Brindle said the CJV150-107 stood out as the best fit for its needs.
“The ease with which it can produce banners and wide-format posters of the very highest quality is simply amazing. Its speed and accuracy makes this a brilliantly effective piece of kit which is both productive and highly profitable.”
He added: “Its versatility is quite awesome and its print-and-cut capability also enables us to produce PVC labelling and self adhesive stickers for our customers with real ease.”
The machine has opened up new revenue streams, by enabling the business to produce items such as large-format signage and reflective road safety signage in-house.
The firm also operates three digital Konica Minolta presses and a range of screen printing equipment.
Brindle acquired Kaymar Print, which first hired him as an apprentice more than 30 years ago, last July after completing an MBO.
The company produces flyers, business cards, brochures, instruction leaflets and marketing materials for customers ranging from sole traders to large national engineering companies.
