Edale
www.edale.com
Stand 6/D561
UK manufacturer Edale won't be taking any presses to the show, but it will have comprehensive information on its range of products for flexo and digital printing, converting, and special applications such as security printing. This will include the new Alpha-Multi flexo press that the Fareham-based company is launching onto the market this month.
This press has a footprint of just 5m2 yet can print in up to nine-colours, while it's twin-stack construction allows printing to take place on one half of the press while the other half is being made ready. An upgrade path for existing Alpha customers is available. And following last year's announcement of its cooperation with Agfa on a base unit for the Dotrix digital press, it's worth swinging by the Agfa stand (11/CD220) to find out about the latest progress on that development.
Edelmann Graphics

Stand 20/C614
Head to hall 20 to hear why Edelmann believes its Label-Print V-43 model will "revolutionise the pressure-sensitive label and packaging market". The offset press can cater for both short and long runs, and flexo and screen units are available to create a hybrid platform. Edelmann has also developed its connections with the Chinese printing press market, and is the distributor for Hong Kong-based Dowell.
Goss International
www.gossinternational.com
Stand 7/C456
Goss will further expand upon the 'new ways to print' theme it launched at Drupa two years ago. Development has continued on its M600 Folia web, which sheets without the need for a conventional heatset web dryer, and Goss reports "significant customer interest" in the machine. Development of the Folia has continued since Drupa, with Goss investigating various coating options for sheetfed-type work, as well as drying options including UV curing.
There's also a hint that there may be a customer announcement regarding the first Folia installation. Goss hopes to challenge traditional barriers with the Folia, and thinks similarly about its giant 96pp Sunday 5000 web press, which blurs the boundaries between web offset and gravure. "We're an agile company that's presenting customers in different sectors with some new opportunities," says communications manager Greg Norris. The first 45,000iph Sunday 5000 has been up and running at a printer in Milan, Italy, since last year, and another press has just being installed in Spain.
We can expect some sort of visual display to emphasise the sheer size of this behemoth, which has a web width of 2.86m. In a separate development, in the US Goss has adapted its Sunday press technology for packaging applications using quick-change variable sleeves, where it believes it can compete with existing flexo, gravure and sheetfed offerings. There's no official word on whether it plans to do the same in Europe yet - something to be discussed at the show perhaps? Other details of the Goss exhibit - it is sharing stand space with co-owner Shanghai Electric - remain under wraps for now.

Stand 6/B520
Komori will be running special presentations throughout the show highlighting the capabilities of its web press range.
Manroland
www.manroland.com
Stand 17/F921
Manroland's recently announced proposal to take over newspaper press specialist Wifag will no doubt be a talking point - the deal could well be concluded by the time of Ipex. Also on the agenda will be the latest developments in the group's plans to compete with Goss in the ultra-wide web offset space.
Muller Martini
www.mullermartini.com/gb
Stand 19/C750
This is the first major outing for Muller Martini since it took over the rights for Drent-Goebel's VSOP press last year. It won't be bringing a full press to the show, but it will have a printing unit on display so it can demonstrate how the clever sleeve technology works.
Muller is promoting the press in two web widths, 520mm and 850mm. "The VSOP is a good match to extend our range and provide a step into the packaging market," says UK managing director Andreas Schillinger. "We have some interesting applications for specialist products." Information on the established Alprinta and Concepta webs will also be on hand.
Timsons
www.timsons.com
Stand 6/TBC
Timsons isn't going to be bringing any presses to the show, but it will be using its presence to promote its new four-colour T14 book press along with the ZMR (zero makeready) and T48 models in its existing book range. Information on the T-Flex 600 flexo press for flexible packaging will also be on hand, along with details of the T-Book Digital Finishing System that Timsons has designed to work with HP's T300 inkjet web. This is the set-up book printer CPI has installed at one of its French plants.
