Print purists may scoff at the image quality, but they're missing the big picture by judging the ComColor by looking at its output under a linen tester.
The cost per full-colour A4 print is under 2p, the monthly duty cycle is 500,000, maximum sheet size is 340x550mm and heaviest stock weight 210gsm.
Don't assume that low per-page prices mean huge upfront investment, the ComColor costs less than a toner-based light-production machine capable of producing a 10th of the volume. UK pricing is to be decided, but in the US, the ComColor 9050 has a list price of $45,995 (£30,000).
Ipex Preview - Digital - Star Product: Riso Comcolor
While most firms targeting cut-sheet colour use toner, Riso is unusual in opting for inkjet. The ComColor range prints at 90-150ppm A4 and is an evolution of the HC range that was a surprise star of Drupa 2004.
