Wing had a long and distinguished career in print and paper, representing companies including PaperCo, Fasson and HG Kippax & Co. 

Over the course of the past four years, he continued to work on the PaperCo account alongside Diana Thompson, managing director of Plus Point PR.

She said: "It was typical of Tony's generosity that he put me forward to succeed him as PR representative for PaperCo.

"Wise, witty and hard-working, he was someone you could always rely on and I will greatly miss him, his advice and input. My thoughts are with his wife Gill."

Prior to his career in PR, Wing was a journalist and was the editor of Print Buyer, where he first worked with Ian James.

James said: "Tony was the ultimate sub editor; he was first class. We had some great times together and he always kept his individualism and dour sense of humour. I will retain many very happy memories."
