Former chief executive Trevor O'Reilly, who joined the company as part of ex-chairman David Mitchell's MBI team in November 2009, has been replaced by James Buckley, an outsider to the print industry with a track record in growing private equity-backed businesses.
The move comes after Bezier had initially stated that O'Reilly would retain his post following the sale to HIG in August 2011, which coincided with Mitchell's departure.
However, according to his LinkedIn profile, O'Reilly left the point-of-sale provider last November. Commenting on his departure, a spokeswoman said: "The new owners felt it was logical to install new management."
In a further split from the past, HIG has announced the appointment of new group financial director Adrian Lamb, who replaces Mitchell-appointee Richard Barfield following his "recent resignation".
The spokeswoman has now confirmed that former chief marketing officer and third member of the MBI team Alistair Stewart has also left the business [contrary to the initial statement in this article].
Buckley has previously held the position of managing director and chief executive of telehealth business Tunstall, where he oversaw the company's value increase from £70m to £510m in nine years through two private equity backed transactions.
Speaking to PrintWeek, Buckley said his immediate focus would be to inform the group's customer base of the qualities Bezier has to offer.
"There is a great opportunity here and customer feedback has already been very positive. Bezier has much to offer, from design to print, and it is important that our customer base is aware of how good we are," he added.
Mitchell, who stepped down as chairman following Bezier's takeover by HIG last year, has been succeeded by Jim Faulds, who said the new appointments have "excellent business pedigrees" with skills suited to leading Bezier's growth.
He added: "Bezier customers have benefited from recent operating changes at our primary manufacturing sites in Wakefield and Leicester, while our London and Leeds- based creative teams continue to go from strength to strength.
"I am both encouraged and excited by the promising prospects for Bezier as we continue to deliver high-quality and innovative PoS solutions to support our customers’ ambitions under James’s stewardship."
