The Ware, Hertfordshire-based business had been a beta site for the machine, the second of which will be installed next week. The new machines replace two outgoing Xerox Docucolor 8000 presses.
According to director Pete Watkins, the 1000 machines offer the company improved print speeds of 100ppm and the ability to print on thicker stocks.
He said: "These new presses double our digital print capacity and the Xerox EA low-melt toner provides a more consistent flat sheet with no streaks.
"We would previously have to migrate some of the heavier stock work on to our four-colour Presstek DI machine but with the additional capacity, we can now move that back over."
The Xerox 1000 model can print up to 100 A4 pages per minute on a maximum sheet size of 330x488mm. It can handle stocks ranging from 55-350gsm with a list price of $395,000 (£272,000).
The 30-staff business will use the newly installed machines to print a wide range of applications including flyers, newsletters, brochures and variable data documents. Herts will also use the machine's fifth clear toner to carry out "added-value" short run jobs.
John Watkins, managing director at Herts Display, said the presses represented "a huge step forward in our market of short-run on-demand colour printing" as customers were increasingly demanding quicker turnround times and more flexibility.
Herts Display, which was established in 1972, now runs eight Xerox machines.
