Taking place at Messe Frankfurt, Germany from 8-11 January, organisers said this year’s show has been repositioned to enable group themes and product segments to better suit target groups.
“In this way, synergies can be optimally exploited,” said Messe Frankfurt vice-president of textiles and textile technologies Olaf Schmidt.
“In addition, the demand for stand space on the exhibitor side has grown sharply in some product segments in recent years.”
Last year’s show attracted around 70,000 visitors from 135 countries and 2,975 exhibitors. Printers looking to move into or expand their presence in the textile printing and interior decor markets are likely to be among those in attendance this year.
Xeikon will use the event to launch its new Walldeco Discovery Solution, an end-to-end digital system that delivers 1,200dpi at speeds up to 300sqm/hr.
The central element in the system is the four-colour Xeikon 3050 entry-level industrial production press. After printing, the web varnishing module provides the option for inline varnishing of the wallpaper to enrich the effect or to protect. At the end of the line, the wallpaper medium rewinder outputs the finished rolls ready for further logistics.
Xeikon said the system has been designed to offer affordable, cost-effective short-run wall decoration production with fast changeovers and minimal waste.
Xeikon business development manager for graphic arts Dimitri Van Gaever said: “Following last year’s launch of our highly productive wall decoration digital production suite based on the Xeikon CX500 press, we quickly identified a demand for a medium capacity solution that delivers the same exacting standards.
He added the system is “positioned at an attractive price point”, enabling printers to immediately create added value to build their businesses.
HP’s booth, meanwhile, will showcase the company’s Latex technology through a selection of concepts and designs on display.
All of the upholstery, curtains, window blinds, decorative cushions, wallcoverings, acoustic textiles, outdoor textiles and eco leather on the booth’s runway will be covered with applications digitally printed with HP technology. Additionally, HP’s DesignJet Z9 Series and Latex 570 printers will be running live on the stand.
“We have expanded our portfolio of textile with over 20 new textiles this year, helping us expand even more the possibilities with HP Latex technology,” said HP business development manager for printed decorative applications Terry Raghunath.
New additions include materials for window treatments made from reclaimed marine debris and a printable canvas made from 100% recycled water bottles.
SPGPrints will show its Pike 700 UV-inkjet hybrid printer via video presentation on its Heimtextil stand. Based on the company’s Archer inkjet technology, this 700mm-wide roll-to-roll machine features up to 10 colour positions around a central cylinder, with CMYK plus white as standard.
It can print onto a full range of textiles, papers, films, foils and boards at up to 1,200dpi and produces vignettes with tonal gradations that are smoother than conventional printing technology, achieving consistent colour uniformity on both supported and unsupported paper and film materials up to 450µm thick.
The machine can also incorporate rotary screen printing units for added value high-impact “look and feel” effects, as well as priming and corona treatment among other complementary technologies, to form a complete single-pass production line.
Other print industry names set to exhibit at Heimtextil 2019 include Mimaki, Veika, MS Printing Solutions, JK Group and Kornit Digital.
