Haymarket motoring website moves into print

Haymarket, publisher of PrintWeek, is extending its Piston Heads motoring website into print for the first time after releasing a 2009 annual.

The 15,000 run compendium, entitled The Best Bits 2009, will feature the highlights of the year from Pistonheads.com, which is the UK's largest motoring website.

Paul Garlick, brand manager at Piston Heads, said: "It’s humorous in its approach, adult in tone and unapologetic in its design."

The annual, which retails for £5.99, is available online and from WHSmith and Tesco in the new year.

Stuart Forrest, publishing director at Haymarket, said: "A print product derived largely from user-generated content is a first for Haymarket, and unusual in the wider publishing sector.

"I’d also venture that this is the first Haymarket magazine to offer useful advice on buying everything from the latest supercars to a domesticated Indian elephant."
