GWG members representing the US and European print industries discussed ways in which printers, prepress professionals, designers, publishers and brand owners were responding to the recession in their home countries.
David Zwang, chair of the graphic arts best-practice organisation, said: "We were very pleased to be able to share our individual and collective experiences in navigating the challenging environments that we all face in the print industry today.
"The GWG's mission is to transcend borders and work together to develop common best practices that help to improve graphic arts workflows and foster business success."
The GWG speakers included vice chair David Van Driessche of Enfocus, members Menno Mooij of ISI Publishing, Pascale Ginguené of Screen Angel, Hanne Josefsen of rotasjon.no, and GWG documentation officer Peter Kleinheider of Callas Software.
The Ghent PDF Workgroup also held its quarterly member meeting, co-hosted by the Madrid Print and Media Cluster and Madrid Printing Association, on 7-8 May in Madrid.
