The web press system, developed in partnership with VITS, will be showcased at this year's Drupa and allows for web printing on coated stocks with standard sheetfed inks without a dryer.
The M-600 will run at a reported 30,000sph and is claimed to offer a faster and more cost-effective way to print B1 sheetfed products.
The press offers blanket-to-blanket printing, which allows for printing on the entire sheet format on stock sizes up to 700 x 1020mm. This is said to aid waste reduction by eliminating the non-print gutters required in the sheetfed perfecting process.
The M-600 is the equivalent length of an eight-unit long perfector with the option to add extra units for special colours and varnishes.
Goss International product management director Jean-Claude Pautrat said: "We analyzed sheetfed and web offset workflows and integrated advantages from both, from paper supply, impression mechanisms, automated functions and auxiliaries to the creation of precisely aligned stacks of perfected sheets."
He added: "In developing this unique press, we started with the objective of making it faster, easier and less costly to print high-quality sheeted products."
Optional add-ons to the M-600 press include Goss Autoplate automatic plate changing, DigiRail digital inking technologies and the Goss Web Center system, which offers automated presetting and workflow management.
