The Acuity LED 1600, which was launched last September, will be used to print 300 "air guitars" on Forex foam board. They will be finished using a Kongsberg iXE-10 digital die-less cutting table, by Esko, which is also taking part in the event.
Mark Stephenson, sales manager for digital solutions at Fujifilm UK, said the company, which is exhibiting at the event for the first time, wanted to use London Calling Rocks to introduce people to wide format digital printing.
"Fuji has a long history with Duplo and, now that it’s expanded the event to include more exhibitors, we wanted to show digital and commercial printers what we can do. We thought the Acuity 1600 would be a good place to start," he said.
The air guitars will be distributed during a performance from The Incredible Fox Band. Stephenson said they would give visitors a chance to "rock out" while looking at the print products on display.
Stephenson said the Acuity LED 1600 costs around £65,000 before any finishing operations are added.
It prints 20 sq m per hour on substrates up to 1,610mm in width and is designed to print on wide-format roll media, and rigid sheet substrates up to 13mm thick (including PET, acrylic, polycarbonate substrates and lightweight boards).
It has six ink channels including white and clear ink and can apply these in a single pass to produce a premium high gloss finish.
Samples from Fujifilm’s euromedia range will also be on show, including vinyls and other flexible substrates, all of which can be used with the Acuity LED 1600.Tweet
