FiberMark launches PrziPUR binder for on-demand jobs

Small-format finishing distributor FiberMark has targeted the short-run book market with the launch of PrziPUR.

The PräziPUR is an automatic single-clamp perfect binder that uses PUR adhesive for binding loose pages or folded sections on short-run and medium-run production.

David Ives, business development manager, said the product was perfect for demanding binding and photobook manufacture.

He said: "Printers are moving into the on-demand book printing market, and this is a unique product for them.

"They can also benefit from the clean-down and set-up times, which are short and simple."

He said the next version of the machine would have an automatic creasing line, and this should be ready within two months.

The PräziPUR starts at £46,322, and has several options, including automatic book thickness detection, a lowerable milling station, a spine cut-off up to 2mm for folded sections and a mull station.

FiberMark has launched the product in conjunction with German book binding company H H Schmedt Hamburg.
