The application-focused event, which will target the interior design community, will highlight the creative possibilities when using print to realise interior design concepts for retail, residential, corporate and hospitality settings. The first Printeriors show will take place alongside Fespa 2015 in Cologne from 18-22 May.
Visitors will see a physical showcase of printed interior applications, presented through a series of room sets to represent different commercial and domestic interior environments. The room concepts will be realised by printing industry suppliers and/or their customers, with the emphasis on creativity and innovation over technology or process.
On 21 May, Printeriors will also feature a one-day conference covering interior applications, materials, designs, techniques, trends and case studies. European designers will lead these sessions.
Fespa divisional director Roz McGuinness said: “Print is making substantial inroads in the realms of architectural design and interior decor, from walls, floor coverings, textiles and decorative surfaces to furniture and accessories.
“With Printeriors, we aim to illustrate print’s creative potential to interior designers, architects, and other specifiers of interior decor. Printeriors will set out to inform, educate and inspire the design community, increasing awareness of print’s capabilities and stimulating demand for printed interior decoration.
“Of course, Fespa’s core audience of printers and signmakers will also benefit considerably from Printeriors. A large number of exhibitors at Fespa 2015, Fespa Fabric and European Sign Expo are already offering solutions specifically for interior decor applications, so many service providers in our community are already actively involved in this segment, or eyeing its potential.
“The opportunity to hear directly from designers will also help PSPs to understand these customers’ creative and commercial drivers and adapt their services accordingly.”
