Ferag debuts EasySert inserting line at Ifra Expo

Newspaper finishing equipment manufacturer Ferag has unveiled a new product aimed at the regional publishing sector.

The EasySert inserting line received its worldwide premier at this year's Ifra Expo in Amsterdam.

Ferag's new kit can run at speeds of 25,000 newspapers an hour and features zoning technology, allowing as few as 200 newspapers to be given specific inserts.

The machine uses an offline inserting process and uses the company's standard Jet-feeder hopper.

Up to 40 hoppers can be an added to the line, although this is likely to be aimed more at the US market, which is insert-heavy.

Marcus Evans, managing director of WRH Marketing, which distributes Ferag equipment in the UK, told PrintWeek the machine will be available from the middle of next year.

He added: "You can make money in your mailroom and this machine would be perfect for a smaller regional printer.

"It could even be used to increase a newspaper's pagination. If you want to do 256 pages you can do runs of 64 and combine them, it will be a lot less expensive than investing in a whole new press."
