Acquired through Heidelberg, the new machine has been installed to prepare boards and papers for production.
Falconer Printing & Packaging managing director Hadyn Bradbury said the guillotine, which comes specified with a stacklift, would be used to halve and quarter sheet stock.
"The format makes it very flexible and the machine is robust enabling it to handle a broad range of papers and boards efficiently and with no health and safety fears," he added.
The addition of the stacklift enables the operator to move heavier stocks such as boards into the guillotine feeder with minimal manual intervention.
Earlier this year, the company, which produces cartons also for the healthcare, cosmetic and giftware market sectors, installed the UK's first Heidelberg Diana X 115 folder gluer with Braille unit.
The inline Braille system has proved a cost-effective solution for Falconer, for which the pharmaceutical market brings in 30% of the West Yorkshire company’s turnover.
"We have invested and will continue to invest, on an on-going basis, to maintain the quality of product and service, to our customers and enhance the growth we have achieved, over the last few years," added Bradbury.
