The show compared photobooks from 15 companies to determine which provided best quality for the consumer. Elanders came out best in the UK and third overall, beating Apple’s iPhoto product.
Elanders’ photobooks are sold under the Photocreator brand and are powered by Taopix software. Photocreator is a free-to-download digital photobook software package that enables users to create electronic photo albums, which are then professionally printed and bound by the company.
Managing director Kevin Rogers said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been ranked best in the UK and of course, to have beaten Apple. We were judged the best in the UK for quality but also because of our customer service. When you are selling to consumers the customer service needs to be different, more personal and with good support for the technical side.
The Gadget Show compared the photobooks, which were all priced at around £30 and promised a two-week delivery time, on factors including image quality, layout and paper quality.
Rogers said sales volumes for photobooks, which it has been selling for three years, run into four figures.
